I love Ikea… hey, what respectable young urban professional doesn’t? Cool and hip furniture, cheap prices, and whole lot of Swedish ingenuity. Now the thing with Ikea is, a lot of people will tell you that you only get what you pay for. But that’s not entirely true — sometimes you get a lot more. Case in point, the new 2007 Ikea catalogue that just came out last month.

If you take a close look at the inside cover, you’ll find that you get something more than what you bargained for. What appears to be a harmless scene of happy family lounging around on a sleek Sultan bed, is actually a pornographic image of perverse filth. It seems the dog on the bed is letting it all hang out, with his red rocket in plain sight for all to see.

So this is what Ikea has resorted to… using smut to sell furniture! Well that’s just sick. I don’t know about you but I’m disgusted that they are exploiting animals like this. (An Ikea spokesperson claims that it’s actually the dog’s leg.) Well, the next time I’m in a store checking out the new Bonde TV units or Ektorp armchairs I’m going to be sure to let them know that we are not down with their kinky Eurotrash fetishes over here in North America.
