Sick of all the marketing for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World yet? No? Well, I am, and I actually like the comics. Anyway, here’s a cool little animated short that Adult Swim did based on a River City Ransom-inspired flashback scene from Vol. 2. The actors from the movie all voice their respective characters. One [...]
Well, the next Bioshock game has been unveiled, and apparently it will be a prequel called Bioshock: Infinite. This time the folks at Irrational have shaken up the franchise a bit by setting the game in a giant air city suspended by blimps and balloons in 1912. The art design seems to draw from early [...]
I have to admit, outside of the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated shorts, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a full episode of anything Genndy Tartakovsky has done. However, I generally dig his art style and sense of humour and I’ve caught enough of Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack to be interested [...]
From the genius who brought you last year’s killer jam “Take U to Da Movies”, our boy Bangs has just dropped a fresh track on YouTube. You can still download his album Hard To Be Up for free right here.
Here’s the second video from Chromeo’s upcoming album Business Casual. Not quite as addictive as “Night by Night”, but hey, I can appreciate the slow jams too. Alicia and I caught Chromeo in Toronto earlier this week and their live show definitely lived up to the addictive party atmosphere of their music with a blinding [...]
The ironic yet disturbing Tim and Eric sensibility seems to be shining through even in music videos that they didn’t direct as of late. Ratatat’s newest vid is directed by More Soon, and is only as sinister as you want it to be! LP4 is out now on XL Recordings.
Never mind that Marvel Super Hero Squad stuff… now this is a comic book-based MMO I want to play! Of course, there’s obviously no way that the gameplay for an online game will look anywhere near as good as this epic six-minute cinematic. But if they can at least capture the general feel of this, [...]
A surprisingly well-made video mash-up set to the tune of Broken Social Scene’s “Meet Me in the Basement”, featuring footage from the G20 Summit in Toronto last month. It was put together by an anonymous fan, and then given BSS’s blessing. Their new album Forgiveness Rock Record is out now on Arts & Crafts.
